Care-A-Lot Christian Nursery School

Care-A-Lot Christian Nursery School began in September 1985 as a ministry of the Second Reformed Church. Care-A-Lot is a State certified facility.

The program has been developed by experienced certified early childhood teachers who are committed to helping young children reach their potential by offering a wide variety of developmental activities. The children are encouraged to develop a respect and love for God, a caring attitude towards others, and a positive self-image.

The activities at Care-A-Lot include social interaction through guided "free play" and group circle times when a Bible story or a concept is taught.  Wide selections of readiness materials are used to develop perceptual skills and to teach language and number concepts.  The children are encouraged to develop creatively through art and craft activities as well as building in the block area and role playing in the housekeeping corner.  Music is included daily through records, singing and rhythmic activities.  The children also meet with a music teacher who enhances our weekly curriculum.  Small and gross motor skills are developed through a variety of hands-on educational tools and gross motor activities.  A special developmental physical education class is held once a week for children in three, four and five day classes.  Each week the children learn about a Bible character or a Bible story.  Our emphasis is to show the love for God and the wonderful things that He gives us.  The program is non-denominational in content.

A weekly newsletter is sent home to ensure communication with parents.  Winter conferences are planned to asses your child's development.  Parents may ask for a conference at any time during the school year.

The Director and all the teachers are certified in Early Childhood Education.  All teachers are First Aid and CPR certified.  They take pride in providing a warm and friendly environment for the children to learn and grow.
